Hi, Marissa! Welcome to Rex Robot Reviews!
Can you tell us a little bit about your short story, The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas, and the inspiration for the great title?
The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas is a sweet romantic story.  Jasmine has a rocky past, she has been burned by love and family before, and now she has a daughter to worry about. She isn't looking for anything, just a quiet place that she can raise her daughter.
On the other hand Logan Clarke fell in love with the mysterious Jasmine long ago, hearing stories from her grandmother. And now that Jasmine is finally here, he knows he’s in love for sure.
Snowbound in a cottage, twelve days before Christmas, does Logan have enough time to convince Jasmine of love at first sight? And can Jasmine let go of her past, and let Logan into her heart?
As for where did I get the idea…honestly it came to me one night while I was laying in bed wondering what I could write for the Christmas anthology. I wanted to contribute something to it but couldn’t think of something that I should write and keep under the word count. I had the idea for this story and thought I could make it work.
As for the title, I have always had a pretty easy time coming up with titles that fit. The hard part is just picking one. This one came to me in the middle of the night. It seemed to be the perfect fit.
Were there any particular challenges you faced during the writing process?
The biggest challenge I face while writing The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas was trying to keep it under the word count. When I started writing The Twelve Seductive Days of Christmas I didn’t think there would be a problem, but I wasn’t even half way through the story and I knew it would be over the word count. Thankfully my publisher was understanding and allowed it to go a little longer.
How do your interests influence your writing?
My interests and everyday life have a strong influence on my writing. I try to write what I know. If I don’t know it and it is something that I want to be included in my story, I do a lot of research. I want my stories to reflect the truth when it comes to thing. I have an active imagination so there are always things that I add to the story. But if there is something about the military in my story then I do all the research I can to make sure that is as real as possible. I have an interest in law and I would love to bring that out in one of my novels in the future.
Which romantic Christmas songs would the main character, Jasmine, choose as favorites?
Jasmine has a soft stop for All I Want for Christmas by Mariah Carey.
Do you prefer short stories over novels? Why?
Honestly I am not a big fan of short stories, because they always leave me wanting more. I prefer a novel that will keep me busy for a few hours. Something that will have me living the lives of the characters and wrapped up in the story.
So, what comes next? Can we expect more stories about Jasmine?
As for what comes next. I am currently working on two different projects. I am currently writing another romance story, and I am polishing off a paranormal story.
However I don’t know if there will be any future stories about Jasmine, and Logan. Nothing is currently in the works but you never know what might happen.
Thank you so much for taking the time for us today! :)
