NBC's Community: Christmas Episode [Review]

About Community:
NBC's hilarious comedy, Community, is a brilliant series about a group of misfits that attend Greendale Community College.

About Community's Characters:
At the center of the group is Jeff Winger (Joel McHale, "The Soup"), a fast-talking lawyer whose degree has been revoked. With some help from his fellow classmates, Winger forms a study group that eventually learns more about themselves than their course work.

Also among the series stars who comprise the group are: comedy legend Chevy Chase as Pierce, a man whose life experience has brought him infinite wisdom; Gillian Jacobs as Britta, the 20-something dropout with something to prove; Yvette Nicole Brown as Shirley, a sassy middle-aged divorcée; Danny Pudi as Abed, a pop culture junkie; Alison Brie ("Mad Men") as Annie, a high-strung perfectionist; Donald Glover ("30 Rock") as Troy, a former high school football star trying to find his way, and Ken Jeong ("The Hangover") as Señor Chang.
About Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas:
Thursday, December 9, 2010 a special stop motion animation episode will air! In this episode the meaning of Christmas is lost and Abed's intense fixation on Christmas concerns the group.

When Abed wakes up in stop-motion animation, he takes it as a sign that he and the group must re-discover the meaning of Christmas. Meanwhile, Jeff (Joel McHale) and Britta become growingly concerned about Abed's mental health and enlist the help of Professor Duncan. The group undergoes hypnosis to explore Abed's winter wonderland and soon unravel the truth behind Abed’s madness. Chevy Chase, Yvette Nicole Brown, Donald Glover, and Ken Jeong also star.

My Review!
NBC's Community is a brilliantly hilarious show, first and foremost. I'm a huge fan of The Office and caught onto watching Community thanks to it airing on Thursday nights with The Office. So, imagine how excited I am when the opportunity to review Community's stop-motion animated Christmas episode early comes along!

This is simply a super fun episode. A must see for all Community fans and those that love Christmas themed anything. The characters even sing for us- the very last song being my  favorite.  The total awesomeness is that the plot is funny AND has a wonderful Christmas  "meaning." I'm so impressed they thought of doing stop-motion for Community- and actually pulled it off! The characters were able to do more zanier, silly things in their claymation forms- which makes it a must see all in itself. And, especially with Christmas around the corner, who doesn't want a little change of pace? Frankly, I could use a little more stop-motion animation in my life ;)

Must must must see! I hope you get the opportunity to watch it Thursday, December 9th at 8PM EST

Sneak Peek It!

Disclosure:  One2One gave me the wonderful opportunity to review this episode. I am entered in a drawing to win prizes for posting a review.  However, the opinions expressed in this post are entirely my own.

  8. Sorry for leaving a comment that doesn't apply to the post, but I can't find a link to email you via, or your email address. I would love to have a book reviewed, and be interviewed, and guest blog, and give away some books. Perhaps I haven't had enough coffee... ;-)

  9. This was one of the best Christmas episodes of a show I have seen in years, probably over a decade. Usually they are cliché and go overboard with the treacle. Community nailed it with a perfect mix of humor, heart, and the best "meaning of Christmas" a TV show has ever offered up. I work at DISH so on my lunch break I'll have to watch this again on my iphone using that TV Everywhere app. Anyone else use this thing? It's awesome! Bring on new Community in 2011!

  10. Happy to hear you loved it too, Elias!! It really was a breath of fresh air.
