My Review:
Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton is a fast paced action romance with many twists and surprises. A wonderful beginning to a great new trilogy! Elisabeth Monroe, (Ellie to her friends), faces the change of a lifetime. Ellie looks like the girl next door, a typical high school senior. Along with her best friend Kate and Landon (who she has known forever) they plan her upcoming party for her 17th birthday, and their senior year!

But unlike any typical teen, Ellie has been suffering from nightly nightmares that have gone on for over three months. Despite treatment and medications, the dreams keep coming. Ellie just gets better at hiding them. But when they find the the body of her dead Economics teacher the day before her birthday, those nightmares take on a realistic turn.

When a mysterious stranger appears out of nowhere, Ellie feels as if she knows him, but doesn't understand how. With Will's help, he triggers her powers and memories after she is stalked by a grizzly monster and as her Guardian he helps her to destroy her living nightmares. Will teaches her that she is a warrior caught up in an age old battle between Heaven and Hell. Someone that has died and is reborn repeatedly over many centuries.

Struggling to recall the past Ellie is torn between her family and friends and her duty to save the world from the soul reapers, creatures that are hunting her and others for their souls. With Wills help, Ellie is able to call on her Khopesh swords and the Angelfire needed to kill her enemy. As her powers get stronger and her memories return, she is faced once again with Ragnuk. An assassin that has already tasted her blood and seeks to kill her again.

Hired by a powerful reaper named Bastian, Ragnuk and other creatures hunt Ellie down in the search for a powerful being, strong enough to destroy Ellie's soul once and for all, as well as to start the war to End of Days. Ellie is faced with her duty to save human kind and lying to her family and friends. Her struggle with past and present and the secrets she has yet to discover along with the love she has.

A truly wonderful read, exciting and stimulating all the way through. The interactions between Ellie & Will have a story all their own. It leaves you eagerly awaiting the next in the series to see what happens next!
