5 out of 5 Robots!

For Seattle detective Joanne Walker, spring is about new beginnings. She's mastered her shamanic abilities, survived a cannibalistic serial killer and now she's facing the biggest challenge of her career - attending a dance concert with her sexy boss, Captain Michael Morrison. But when the performance - billed as transformative - actually changes her into a COYOTE, she and Morrison have bigger things to deal with.

And there's more. Homeless people are disappearing, a mystical murder puts Joanne way out of her jurisdiction and with the full moon coming on, it's looking like the killer is a creature that can't possibly exist.

But Jo could probably handle all that, if one ordinary homicide hadn't pushed her to the VERY EDGE...

My Review:
Spirit Dance ~ Book Six of the Walker Papers series is an incredible read! I have not read any other books from this series, but I am sure I am going to pick them all up! C.E. Murphy keeps you absolutely spellbound by her vividly descriptive action packed story.

The main character Joanne Walker is just one accident after another. Whether she is getting herself or others into troubling situations, there is always has a sense of duty and a sense of humor attached to it.

In Spirit Dances, it looks like Joanne is coming into her own. Though tricky for her at first, she finds a way to smooth out the rough edges at the conclusion of the plot. The interplay between her and her boss Morrison has a special flavor all of its own, as they discover sides of each other they never knew before.

I love the Native American Indian imagery that Murphy describes in the dances and ceremonies. The interactions of the Spirit Guides in Joanne's ordeals is incredibly touching. I finished this book in only two sittings, did not want to put it down! I can't wait to see where this story goes!

  1. I absolutely adore this series! Joanne Walker is such a caring, endearing character. Can't wait to read this (it sits on my Kindle, as we speak!).
    Thanks for the great review!

  2. Hi, Mary! Thanks for stopping by!! Can't wait to see what you think of Spirit Dances :)

  3. C.E. Murphy is one of my favorite authors, and the whole series is fantastic. Be cautious about starting reading any of them right before bed if you have to work the next day. ;)
