Guest Post: C.H. Admirand!

I’m a sucker for a man with broad shoulders who’s honest and has integrity and is grounded in family. A strong man, not just physically, but emotionally. One who will be able to stand for what’s right and fight for it—if he has to… OK, and it wouldn’t hurt if my hero was easy on the eyes, too.

I like to add a character trait that makes my heroes real. Tyler values the truth, but yet in order to protect his brothers and their family name, he lies to them.

Tyler will do anything to save the Circle G ranch. He needs to find a night job, but after answering every ad in the paper and coming up short, he finds himself standing across the street from the last one. The Lucky Star is advertising for a hardworking man with a strong back and even temperament. Little does he know that he won’t be stocking shelves and hauling kegs at the Lucky Star, he’ll be their new headliner in their ladies’ club!

He’s given his word, and although it’s totally outside of his comfort zone, Garahans don’t go back on their word. He sticks it out and in the process comes to appreciate the strength of the Langley women and their circle of women friends that work at the club.
He’s drawn to Emily from the start and has a protective streak a mile wide. When someone tries to break into the club, he tries to put himself between the intruder and the women. Emily would rather protect herself, since she and her cousin Jolene have had each other’s backs for as long as they can remember, but eventually, she accepts Tyler for who he is and comes to count on that protectiveness.

In trying to save the ranch, he’s fighting to save a 150 year old legacy—not just for himself—but for his younger brothers, Dylan and Jesse. They were raised by their grandfather and have learned to stick together. When all else fails, you can count on your family to have your back.

When a pissed off bull by the name of Widowmaker tries to skewer Tyler to a barbed wire fence, his brothers are there to administer first aid and to drive him to the emergency room. But they go one step further, when trying to convince his brothers that he has to go to work, not only because of the promise he made when he took the job, but because he needs to tell Emily the truth that he would love her no matter where she worked or what she did. He didn’t know what to say when she asked him earlier in the day, and he’s afraid he’ll lose Emily if he doesn’t set the record straight…stitches and fractured ribs aside.

His brothers band together and help him get cleaned up and drive him into town. It’s a sight to make feminine hearts quiver: the three dark-haired, dark-eyed Garahan brothers walking side-by-side into the Lucky Star. That is until Emily notices the brothers are holding Tyler up.

When she sees what he’s gone through and still insisted on having his brothers drive him into town, she realizes that she will have to listen to what he has to say. When he tells her he loves her—no matter what, she listens.

Here’s an excerpt:
“I’m sorry I let my being jealous get in the way of answering you quick enough.”
Emily nodded. “I’m sorry I let my temper get in the way of giving you the time you needed to sort it out in your head.”
“I’m done thinking, Em.” Tyler shifted and groaned, but moved so their lips were lined up. “I love you and need you in my life.”
“And?” Emily grinned touching her lips to his.
“If our roles were reversed, I’d still be jealous as hell of all of those guys getting a good look at what I’d want reserved just for me, but I know that’s all they’d be doing is looking.”
“I love you, Tyler Garahan.”
“Praise the Lord, Emily Langley.”
Lips locked, hearts linked, Tyler kissed her until her toes curled.

Desperate times call for desperate measures…
When Tyler Garahan said he’d do anything to save his family’s ranch, he never thought that would include taking a job as a stripper at a local ladies’ club. But the club’s fiery redheaded bookkeeper captures Tyler’s attention, and for her, he’ll swallow his pride…

And one good turn deserves another…
Emily Langley feels for the gorgeous cowboy. It’s obvious that he’s the real deal and wouldn’t be caught dead in a ladies’ revue if he wasn’t in big trouble. And when he looks at her like that, she’ll do anything to help…

Working days on the ranch and nights at the ladies’ club, Tyler is plumb exhausted. But could it be that his beautiful boss needs him just as much as he needs her...
