Book Blurb:
Nikki Glass can track down any man. But when her latest client turns out to be a true descendant of Hades, Nikki now discovers death is no longer an obstacle.

Crazy as it sounds, Nikki’s manhunting skills are literally god-given. She’s a living, breathing descendant of Artemis who has stepped right into a trap set by the children of the gods. Most powerful of all are the Olympians, a rival clan of immortals seeking to destroy all Descendants who refuse to bow down to them. In the eternal battle of good god/bad god, Nikki could make a divine weapon. But if they think she’ll surrender without a fight, the gods must be crazy. . .

Quick Thoughts:
Dark Descendant by Jenna Black is the dark debut novel in the Descendants series. I have been meaning to read something by Jenna Black for awhile, when I received this in the mail from Pocket I was so excited. I've really been craving some Greek mythology in my Urban Fantasy. Jenna totally delivers.

Nikki is brilliant and courageous. She is very likeable -It is awesome to watch her evolve and embrace her immortality. It is hard to dislike this heroine, she's got a lot of potential. Actually, all of the characters are pretty awesome with an enormous amount of potential. I think this series may turn into a favorite and I can't wait to learn more about all the characters.

Oh- just a side note. There really isn't any romance or sexual tension in this book. This didn't bother me at all, but I know some of you may be disappointed about that. Maybe we'll get some in the next installment? Either way, I'll be reading it!

At first, I was a little apprehensive. I have no idea why because the next thing I knew I was finished reading and now I just want more. The plot progresses at the perfect pace and kept me intrigued.  It is going to be painful waiting for the second installment! So if you love Urban Fantasy, go for this one!

  1. I really enjoyed this book as well. The lack of romance didn't bother me although there may be a connection between Jamaal and Nikki. I really liked this book and can't wait for the 2nd book to come out. Great review!
