Giveaway & Interview with author Christina Henry!!

About the Book:
Madeline Black is an Agent of death, meaning she escorts the souls of people who have died to the afterlife. Of course, not everyone is happy to see her...

If obstinate dead people were all that Maddy had to worry about, life would be much easier. But the best-laid plans of Agents and fallen angels often go awry. Deaths are occurring contrary to the natural order, Maddy's being stalked by foes inside and outside of her family, and her two loves-her bodyguard, Gabriel, and her doughnut-loving gargoyle, Beezle-have disappeared. But because Maddy is Lucifer's granddaughter, things are expected of her, things like delicate diplomatic missions to other realms.
About the Author:
CHRISTINA HENRY is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago and enjoys running long distances, reading anything she can get her hands on and watching movies with samurai, zombies and/or subtitles in her spare time. She lives in Chicago with her husband and son.

The Interview:

Hi, Christina! BLACK NIGHT is one of my favorite Urban Fantasy reads this year- Can you tell our readers about what you love most about the Urban Fantasy genre?
I really love the way you can mix up genres in UF - you can have a great mystery, a love story, a paranormal element and a suspense thriller all in the same book. It's a lot of fun for a writer to have no boundaries.

Is there any scene in BLACK NIGHT that you absolutely love and would never cut?
The sequence in the Maze was one of the more challenging scenes to write but I think it's also one of the best in the book. I think you really see Maddy's strengths and her vulnerabilities revealed in a very intimate way.

I didn't like Nathaniel in BLACK WINGS, but now I love him. Will he ever grow on Madeline? Will he continue to be a fixture in the series? (Sorry! I had to ask!)
You'll have to wait until February for BLACK HOWL, unfortunately :)

So I asked once before about a love triangle, but it seems that Madeline has three men gunning for her love now. Any of these guys dropping out of the races in the books to come?
Same as above!

What are five songs we could find on Madeline's favorite playlist?
He Wants You/Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Crossfire/Brandon Flowers
Full of Grace/Sarah McLachlan
Wake Up/Arcade Fire
On Your Own/The Verve

What are three fun facts about Beezle that no one knows?
a) His favorite movie is Bram Stoker's Dracula - the one with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder. He thinks it's a comedy.
b) When Maddy is not at home he spends almost all his time on Facebook.
c) He loves Katy Perry but would never, ever admit it. He likes to pretend he's a tough gargoyle.

Have you ever considered writing in the Young Adult genre?
I think it takes real skill to walk that fine line and make a YA book appealing to both kids and adults. There are many, many authors that I admire who do it well but I don't think I'm one of them. My books are definitely, as my son says, "for grown-ups".

Are there any other releases or works in progress that you're excited about?
I have a couple of projects that I'd like to work on - one of them is an idea for another series - but since I've committed to writing two Black Wings books this year I probably won't have time to work on them for a while. Hopefully next year I'll have an announcement on that front.
