BEA - Tote Bags!

My Favorite Tote Bags

Last year I brought home way too many tote bags. It was my first year at the BookExpo, and I didn't realize people were serious when they say totes are just shoved into your hands. This year I was prepared to say no and not take home as many as last year. (My honey also opposed the idea of more bags hanging around the house, haha) Anyway, I think this year I still brought home at least six or seven bags. I wanted to share a couple with you- my favorites. They're awesome- I mean, totes deserve their own post. They're almost as abundant as books at BEA. ;)

My favorite tote bag from BEA12
Let's start out with my favorite- THE HOBBIT got its own tote! How awesome is that!? It is the perfect size for me to take to work. Durable, heavy material. Hands down my favorite.

 The biggest bag from BEA12
This definitely goes to McGraw Hill's big red over there on the left. This thing is massive. The straps are extra long too. The best thing about this bag are the two pockets on the side. It is really convenient to have a space for your water/chap stick/cell phone. I love how practical this one is, but it is too big for me- for the show floor anyway. I couldn't stop running into people with it. I preferred carrying two smaller ones than this one. Though I think this was the show favorite. I heard a lot of people saying they wished they could have nabbed this bag. I still love this one, totally will use this as an overnight bag.

Cutest bag at BEA12!
Look at that adorable bat on that adorable bag to my right. I should have taken a picture of the other side too. It is just as cutesy. Love the size of it too, I may be taking this one to the grocery store with me :) If not, it is definitely my new mail bag. I ship lots of books ;)

My Favorite Swag

I met a lot of brilliant people at BEA, I'll post more on them in another post- butttt There are tons of bookmarks, pins, postcards and randoms at BookExpo too! All of it promoting our favorite novels. Gosh, see why BookExpo is so wonderful? I hope you're all marking your calendars and joining next year, June 4th - 6th. Here are my top two favorites of the show!

Lemony Snicket Briefcase- Do I even have to tell you why this is my favorite? It has Daniel Handler's autograph on it!! Plus, lots of fun goodies on the inside. (Sneak peek at Handler's newest novel, soap, calendar, tour schedule, soap and a pen.)

Dog Frisbee!
I brought my dog home other treats- but this one came straight from BookExpo. Rex does not care about anything I brought him- just this Frisbee, and he's picky about his toys. So, for that reason, the dog Frisbee has to be at the top. He will not stop throwing this thing around and carrying it all over the house. He even cried at the door when he accidentally left it outside- until I let him go out and get it.

Alright, this probably won't be the end of my BEA posts. But hope everyone had a great weekend!

  2. I was surprised at how many tote bags I came home with this time around. There was a ton of cute ones. I got the hobbit one but missed out on the Nightsong and Lemony Snicket one.

  3. Awesome briefcase! I saw the Lemony Snicket line and it was just too, too long for me. But if I'd known there was a briefcase at the end of the line.... ;)

Looking forward to hearing more about your BEA adventures! And Rex is just too cute!

    1. Hey, Alexia! I've been creeping on your BEA posts. Don't worry, I'll comment. :) And yeah, the Lemony Snicket line was way too long. Daniel Handler is hilarious though.

And thanks, Rex appreciates the compliment ;)

  5. Aww, too cute with the dog frisbee!! He looks so happy!

My favorite bag was the Capstone one. I think it had an owl on it? I didn't get one but secretly coveted it when others were carring it around. I only grabbed two totes myself: Disney and Harlequin. Harlequin always has awesome bags. Big fan. :)

    1. Aw, Jess, I would have loved to meet you! Next year I'm scouring the blogs I love for their pictures so I can actually introduce myself. And I loved the Capstone one too, didn't get that one. Did get it last year though, it's still my favorite from 2011. And I totally nabbed the Disney and Harlequin bags... I loved the graphics for It's a small world!!

  7. That McGraw HIll tote was fantastic. I think about ten people saw mine and ran over to get one.
I tried for the Lemony Snicket bag but I think I was too late :( It's very cute.
