Book Summary:

Nastasya has lived for hundreds of years, but for some reason, life never seems to get any better. She left her spoiled, rich girl life to find peace at River's Edge, a safe haven for wayward immortals. There, she learned to embrace River's Edge, despite som drama involving the sexy Reyn, who she wants but won't allow herself to have. But just as she's getting comfortable, her family's ties to dark magick force her to leave.

She falls back into her old, hard partying ways, but will her decision lead her into the hands of a dark immortal? Or will it be her first step to embracing the darkness within her?

Shannon's Thoughts:
Darkness Falls continues the story of Nastasya, a 460 year old immortal, as she continues her recovery at River’s Edge.  In the first book, Immortal Beloved, Nastasya realizes she wants more out of her life than to waste it partying.  She flees London after witnessing her best friend, Innocencio (Incy), break a cab driver’s back with magick.  Nastasya ended up at River’s Edge, an immortal rehab of sorts.  At the end of Immortal Beloved, Nastasya was ready to accept her past and try to move on.

In Darkness Falls, that story continues.  But Nastasya is afraid that she is too dark and too far gone to be saved. She is also very conflicted about her feelings for Reyn, another immortal living at River’s Edge.  Nastasya found out that Reyn and his family were responsible for the slaughter of her family back in 1561.  But she is also incredibly attracted to him.  So, you know, it’s complicated.  Lastly, Nastasya begins to worry that Incy is on his way to find her and wants her for a dark purpose.

If you liked Immortal Beloved, you will definitely like
Darkness Falls.  Nastasya’s humor is back in full force and there is a lot more going on in this book than the first.  The ending is particularly exciting. We are also treated to quite a few flashbacks and we get to see Nastasya’s journey of self discovery take a few hits and have some set backs.  But mostly I just enjoy Nastasya's sarcastic humor as she tries to find her place in the world.  I am really enjoying this series and am excited to read the last book in the series when it comes out in November.

Books in the series in the order they should be read:
1. Immortal Beloved
2. Darkness Falls
3. Eternally Yours (expected publication Nov. 2012)
