Book Summary:
Hailed as “impossible to put down,” the Hex Hall series has both critics and teens cheering. With a winning combination of romance, action, magic and humor, this third volume will leave readers enchanted.

Just as Sophie Mercer has come to accept her extraordinary magical powers as a demon, the Prodigium Council strips them away. Now Sophie is defenseless, alone, and at the mercy of her sworn enemies—the Brannicks, a family of warrior women who hunt down the Prodigium. Or at least that’s what Sophie thinks, until she makes a surprising discovery. The Brannicks know an epic war is coming, and they believe Sophie is the only one powerful enough to stop the world from ending. But without her magic, Sophie isn’t as confident.

Sophie’s bound for one hell of a ride—can she get her powers back before it’s too late?

Shannon's Thoughts:
Spell Bound in the third book in the Hex Hall series.  You can read my Hex Hall review here and my Demonglass review here.  If you've read my other reviews, you know I love this series.  I love quippy, sarcastic protagonists who aren't afraid to take charge.  Sophie is just about one of the funniest narrators I've read in a long time.  Spell Bound is a fairly exciting conclusion to the series and the action is almost non-stop.  There were a few times I thought certain plot elements were a little too convenient and I thought "c'mon Hawkins, don't be afraid to go there".  But overall, it was still super fun, fast paced and exciting.  I think the second book, Demonglass, is still my favorite but I thought Spell Bound was a great conclusion and I am pretty happy with how the story endedSome of it may have been a little too perfectly wrapped up, but I'll forgive it because overall this was an excellent, cohesive series.

Books in the series in the order they should be read:
1. Hex Hall
2. Demonglass
3. Spell Bound
