About this Book:
Mercy Thompson’s life has undergone a seismic change. Becoming the mate of Adam Hauptman—the charismatic Alpha of the local werewolf pack—has made her a stepmother to his daughter Jesse, a relationship that brings moments of blissful normalcy to Mercy’s life. But on the edges of humanity, what passes for a minor mishap on an ordinary day can turn into so much more…

After an accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic, Mercy and Jesse can’t reach Adam—or anyone else in the pack for that matter. They’ve all been abducted.

Through their mating bond, all Mercy knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam’s disappearance may be related—and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from any ally she can get, no matter how unlikely.

My Thoughts:
Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs- Mercy Thompson #7 - wow, just wow. Put simply, I love it. Patricia Briggs weaves an eventful, vivid tale full of fascinating three dimensional characters AGAIN. Again, the action just goes on and on and Briggs keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is one of my all time favorite series. Briggs is a *must buy* author for me. If you are an Urban Fantasy junkie- buy all seven of these novels.

The best part of this series is the fact that Mercy is extremely pragmatic. She never makes decisions that seem out of character, but she is constantly growing and life events affect her the way you would imagine they would. Her relationship with Adam Hauptman, alpha of the local pack, is breathtaking. The last two pages of Frost Burned literally took my breath away. They're not super romantic, but in the most efficient, not cheesy, sweet way Briggs lets you know just how happy Mercy is with her crazy new life as Adam's wife/mate. It just made me swoon. This just may be my favorite Urban Fantasy couple. They have real obstacles, both within their relationship and all that awesomely insane plot stuff.

Ok- brilliance from Patricia Briggs? GETTING TO READ FROM ADAM'S POINT OF VIEW! Why haven't we done this sooner?! Are we doing this because now Mercy and Adam have this amazing pack/mate bond? Don't know, don't care- love it. It made the story flow and kept things interesting where they may have fallen flat. Have I mentioned that I'm enthralled with Adam Hauptman? Well, I am. I may have been drooling while reading his part. Can we do that again, Patricia? Thank you!

Before I let you go - I have to tell you about how much fun the plot is. The entire pack is kidnapped. Say whhhat? And on Thanksgiving! Sad. But it's all good because Briggs brings in my favorite secondary characters- Stefan, Tad, Zee and Ben. I would have been mortified if these four didn't make a decent appearance, but they do. Yay.

Time for you to purchase this book. If you haven't read any Mercy Thompson, start with Moon Called so that you can fall for all of these beautiful characters just like I have :) Frost Burned is everything any Urban Fantasy fan could want... and more!

Books in this series in the order they should be read:

1. Moon Called
2. Blood Bound
6. River Marked
7. Frost Burned

  1. I love reading books about shifters and wolves because I find them to be the most interesting paranormal beings.
