Book Summary: While Morganville, Texas, is often a troubled town, Claire Danvers and her friends are looking forward to coming home. But the Morganville they return to isn’t the one they know; it’s become a different place—a deadly one…

Something drastic has happened in Morganville while Claire and her friends were away. The town looks cleaner and happier than they’ve ever seen it before, but when their incoming group is arrested and separated—vampires from humans—they realize that the changes definitely aren’t for the better.

It seems that an organization called the Daylight Foundation has offered the population of Morganville something they’ve never had: hope of a vampire-free future. And while it sounds like salvation—even for the vampires themselves—the truth is far more sinister and deadly.

Julia's Thoughts:
Daylighters is the 15th and final book in the long running witty Morganville Vampire series. All the books in this series are light, fun and quick reads. This one isn't any different. I think old fans of the series won't be disappointed because the entire gang is back for one final adventure.

The plot is thrilling, a lot goes on throughout the whole book. I never got bored. I really wanted to be excited about this book and I really want to gush about it because it is the last in this great young adult series. But honestly? I couldn't figure out why Claire and her friends didn't want a better Morganville. They complained about it being changed for the better- I'm not even talking about the vampires being kidnapped. I don't know, I had a hard time relating to them and Eve drove me nuts. She's always been my least favorite character, but she really frustrated me in Daylighters. I almost feel like her character didn't grow or evolve over the course of the 15 books. Sometimes this isn't a bad thing, but for me, I just wish Eve would have become something more.

Myrnin is brilliant, insane and absolutely hilarious and as usual, he is the highlight of Daylighters. Myrnin kept this series alive for me, anytime he isn't intricately weaved throughout the story, I'm sad. It is just perfect seeing the old chemistry between Myrnin and Claire, working together.

Daylighters is STUFFED with action and a variety of crazy and danger. It is a truly satisfying conclusion- right up until the Claire/Shane/Michael/Eve ending. They all do something together that I just couldn't swallow. It just seemed incredibly silly to me and sort of ruined the book for me. I don't think that others will have the same reaction as me. I think other fans of this series may enjoy it. I hated it- going to pretend the book ended just before *that* happened. So, I definitely would only suggest those that have already been reading Morganville Vampires to pick up Daylighters. But if you are on the look out for a fluffy new vampire series, check out the first book in the Morganville Vampire series, you'll love it.
