Book Summary:

I’ve battled the Reapers of Chaos before–and survived. But this time I have a Bad, Bad Feeling it’s going to be a fight to the death … most likely mine.

Yeah, I’ve got my psychometry magic, my talking sword, Vic–and even the most dangerous Spartan on campus at my side, in Logan freaking Quinn, but I’m no match for Loki, the evil Norse god of chaos. I may be Nike’s Champion, but at heart, I’m still just Gwen Frost, that weird Gypsy girl everyone at school loves to gossip about.

Then someone I love is put in more danger than ever before, and something inside me snaps. This time, Loki and his Reapers are going down for good … or I am.

Shannon's Thoughts:
Killer Frost is the sixth and last book in the Mythos Academy series.  I find myself kind of amazed that this is the end.  It has really been a pretty fun ride.  I'm not generally a fan of urban fantasy type books, but I've been pretty entertained by this series.

If you haven't read the series, the basic outline is that kids who have descended from mythical warriors (Spartans, Valkyries, etc) attend special academies.  Mythos Academy being one such academy.  Also attending Mythos is Gwen Frost, a gypsy girl with psychometry powers that allow her to see memories.  Gwen has been chosen by the goddess Nike to be her Champion and help battle Loki and his evil Reapers.

Killer Frost is the final showdown between Mythos and the Reapers.  Gwen knows she is the one who is supposed to kill Loki but is scared what sacrifices she will have to make to do so.  This final book is right on par with the other books in the series, but this time Gwen realizes how much she needs friends and how willing they are to follow her.  I loved seeing everyone come together to fight Loki.  The climax was pretty exciting and I was actually surprised by the outcome.  But on the whole, I found the ending pretty satisfying with good closure.

Overall, fans of the series will be happy with the finale.  And other readers should consider reading this fun series!
