Top Ten Tuesday: Popular Authors I've Never Read

Top Ten Popular Authors We've Never Read
Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish

1. George R.R. Martin
This is extremely popular right now due to a certain extremely popular HBO show.  And I just haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet.  The thought of diving into these books exhausts me.  I used to read a lot of 1000 page fantasy books, but lately I just have no interest in something that long.

2. Jonathan Safran Foer
I don't know what it is, but I just have zero interest.

3. James Patterson
I went through a pretty big mystery/thriller stage in my teen years and I'm a little surprised I never made it around to James Patterson.  Huh.

4. E.L. James
Nope, nope, nopey, nope.  The more people go on about her books, the more I want to fly into an uncontrollable rage and start trashing my house.  I just can't.  It's not even the subject matter.  It's the media hype that follows it.

5. Dan Brown
This is a half truth.  I STARTED The DaVinci Code but I couldn't finish it.  I was so bored.

6. Nora Roberts/ J.D. Robb
Sometimes when I hear so much about an author and her work, it turns me off. Like, I have heard so much about these books that I FEEL like I have read them... but I haven't. Regardless, I will eventually (probably) read Nora's work because she lives, runs her book store, and all this other stuff literally 10 minutes from my hometown. I just need to bite the bullet.

7. E.L. James
I haven't read her work because I'm not curious. I saw the movie Secretary and that was enough for me. (I love that movie!) Anyway, after you've read the Anita Blake series nothing really shocks you in the sexual department when you're reading.... and honestly many of my book buddies that I take suggestions from (seriously, haha) told me these books are not very well written.

8. Eoin Colfer
I don't have a good reason for not reading this author. I really want to read his Artemis Fowl books, I don't know why I haven't found the time yet!

9. P.C. Cast
I've had my eye on the House of Night series forever. Then I burned out on this genre and haven't really looked back. I don't know, is it an awesome series? I just have had so many other books I've wanted to read that I haven't gotten around to try this one out.

10. Sherrilyn Kenyon
This woman has so many books out that I wouldn't even know where to start. I would never get caught up in this lifetime.
