Life of a Blogger: Fitness



Life of a Blogger is a weekly meme by Novel Heartbeat.  It gives us a chance to talk about non-bookish passions and interests.

Oh Fitness.  What a love/hate relationship I have with you.  I do not naturally enjoy working out.  I don't like being out of breath.  Or sweaty.  Or tired.  I don't feel the need to "push myself".  But I do it because it needs to be done. And because I am not naturally athletic and kind of weak, working out means being able to keep up.

I do two main fitness activities.  The first one is bootcamp.  I found a place I really like and they do a lot of TRX work, weights, etc.  It is tiring and sometimes frustrating because I can't do an exercise as well as I like.  But I always walk away happy I went.

The other thing I do is run 5k's.  I truly hate running, but my best friend and I kind of fell into it.  We've been running them for a year now and have run in 14 of them.  It's truly a masochistic exercise.

  1. You do TRX?? O.o I am officially very impressed. I don't know much about it, but from what I've seen so far at the gym it's super intense and nopety nope no. My friend keeps trying to convince me to do it, but calling me after every work out to describe how much you feel like death is generally not the way to get me to do it haha!

    1. Well, saying that I "do" TRX might be a bit strong. Let's just say I attempt it. Honestly, the TRX is not the worst for me. Cardio is the worst by far. Burpees, jumping around and shit. No thanks.

  2. A 5k O___O I hate running. HATE it. I can run like, 10 feet and be out of breath lmao!
