The real Harlow is trapped inside a Cambodian temple, and her double, the evil Isiris, has escaped confinement and is masquerading as her.

First of all, this series is one of the most unique ones I've ever read.  I honestly cannot think of another book or series like it.  And that's really saying something because I feel like every book reminds me of other book.  It also defies explanation.  It has dystopian, horror, cult, and paranormal aspects and it is bananas.  But I mean that as a compliment!  I never knew what was going to happen and I loved that I was keep guessing.

This sequel is even more globe spanning than the first.  I like that it encompasses parts of the world that we generally don't get to read about in YA: Asia, Europe, Russia to name a few.  And Whitney is not afraid to bring on the pain for her characters.  She really brings it all for the ending.  No one really makes it out unscathed.

If you are interesting in reading a very unique and interest series, especially if you like horror or paranormal stories, then I suggest checking this out!
