Book Summary:
In the exciting conclusion to the Dark Star trilogy, Audrey Whitticomb is faced with a tough decision: save her people from the demons known as Harrowers, or save her best friend from certain death?

Audrey Whitticomb wants to be a Guardian like her superhero mom, Morning Star, and her superhot boyfriend, Leon. But at seventeen, Audrey still hasn't been called--unlike reluctant Tink, who'd rather not deal with all those scaly-skinned, red-eyed demons.

The truth: Audrey can no longer fight her fate. She has a different role to play.

The Beneath is waking. Demons are rising. Friends are falling. And the future is waiting. Will Audrey stop the Harrowing in time to save the Kin? Or will she save her best friend, Gideon, from certain death? Can Audrey find the power and the courage to act before it's too late?

Shannon's Thoughts:
This series deserves a lot more recognition that it gets.  I randomly picked up the first book from the shelves of my library and was surprised by how FUN it was.  I like super hero movies, but I wasn't too sure how I felt about a book in the genre.  But it is different and sassy and fun.  Honestly, you can't go wrong with this series.

In the final installment (*sob*), Audrey and her family and friends are in the eye of the storm.  They are trying to move on from the events that happened in the last book.  I don't want to give anything away, but peace for Audrey is very tenuous.  And of course, it all goes wrong.  Audrey's decisions start catching up with her and she pisses a lot of people off.  But it all leads to an epic ending.  It's very hard to write about this book without giving away spoilers, but I don't want to say anything because I want you go read this series!

This was a perfect ending to a great series.  I have no complaints!  If you like super heroes, then please check out this series!
