Top Ten Tuesday: ALL TIME Favorite Authors

Top Ten Tuesday is an original weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish

Top Ten ALL TIME Favorite Authors

It was actually hard to come up with a list of ALL TIME favorite authors.  I wanted to include authors that had multiple books or series that I’ve read.  Sure, I may like a series, but does that mean the author is my ALL TIME favorite?  I don’t know. Maybe?  So I tried to include authors that either I’ve read all or most of their books or ones whose books/series were so strong that I would instantly read anything else they’ve written.

 Maggie Stiefvater

  1. Sarah J Maas & Leigh Bardugo made my list too. I'm definitely going to read Marissa Meyer soon, she's appeared on so many lists today!
    my TTT

  2. Sherman Alexie is an amazing writer!!

Here's my TTT post for this week: http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2015/04/top-ten-all-time-favorite-authors.html

  3. I'm both unsurprised (Sherman Alexie, Stiefvater, Maas) and surprised (Pratchett, Dessen). I don't think I remembered/knew that you had read Pratchett and I don't think we've ever talked about Sarah Dessen. Although considering I don't ever really talk about contemporary reads, I suppose that isn't actually surprising haha!

    1. Pratchett: I thought we've at least talked about Wee Free Men? My other favorite character is Death. :) I own almost all of his books, maybe 4-5 short of the full collection? I've read about half of those. I need to work through that eventually. Bucket List item.
Dessen: Dessen is a reliable standard for me. I almost always like her books (though I didn't like The Moon and More very much). If she writes it, I will read it. But she isn't a sparkly new author for me, which is probably why I don't talk about her much?

    2. Elizabeth and Shannon, here is a link to the info on that Pratchett two part BBC mini-series I was telling Elizabeth about.

I see it is on youtube, but I haven't looked at it yet, so I don't know the quality. My son and I used to watch it every Christmas.

    3. It's SUPER cheap to buy! I can afford a $5 splurge so I might be doing that pretty soon!

  4. I love Maggie and Leigh! They would both be on my list, too. I have only read one Pratchett book, The Color of Magic, and I feasted on it. The only reason I haven't read more of his titles is because I always forget to look for them. The Midwife's Apprentice looks wonderful, I will be checking it out on GR.
